Post-2019 & Pre-2020

This is a selection from Tianming’s early street photography work in Hong Kong. It highlights a city “in between” different eras and ideologies where people see the word, “freedom” and “pariots”, “royal” and “private property”, written next to each other. The collective visual elements formed in and after 2019, during the global pandemic, but they are shaped a long time before that. It was an era that the photographer’s camera has no access to. He can only wrote down “To Hong Kong” in the artist statement.
