If Approximate: Imagine Woods
A land in between, imagined through multi-channel sound and photographic images. The form of woods emerges through the reflection of different sounds: trains, vehicles, aircraft, birds, marsh, wind, and people. The vibration of life is rooted in the resonance of non-living structures. It crosses boundaries. It circles. Seasons change, nights shift. What is lost will eventually return, but different.
If Approximate: Imagine Woods takes shape from Tianming Zhou’s earlier project, If Approximate, which explores spatial and temporal proximity in Belle Isle Marsh in Boston, the city’s last remaining salt marsh.
